What’s Coming – Changes to Microsoft Dynamics Exam Requirements

IMPORTANT  As previously announced in July 2014 through the  Partner News Update email newsletter , there are changes to exam requirements beginning  March 1, 2015  for SPA, CSA, and MPN Competencies (this date was previously communicated as January 1, 2015).  As part of these programs' ongoing lifecycle, exam requirements are regularly updated per program strategy to ensure new versions of Microsoft Dynamics products and their associated technical exams and sales assessments are included in these requirements.  To reflect this, all partners must be on current product versions of exams for Microsoft Dynamics CRM (2013 or 2015) and Microsoft Dynamics AX (2012 or 2012 R3) starting March 1, 2015 to be able to order and claim fees. Fundamentals of Application Lifecycle Management - Microsoft Virtual Academy Course

Would you like to see how a productive, effective, and successful (real-world!) software development team works, from code to customer? Watch Northwest Cadence experts Steven Borg and James Tupper as they focus on getting to production faster, creating quality software, and understanding the big picture, in this in-depth, demo-rich, and end-to-end look at application lifecycle management (ALM), including prioritization, commitment, implementation, deployment, testing, and (finally) release. Find out how to deliver high-quality code in fast delivery cycles, get continuous feedback from customers to guide future features, learn the language you need to "have the helpful conversation" with management, and make design and process decisions so that last test validation becomes a mere formality. From DevOps and continuous delivery, to quality and project management (both general reporting and day-to-day prioritization), with process artifacts made by Team Foundation Server and V

How to slip-stream AX 2012 R3 Cu 8

With the release of Cu 8 for AX 2012 R3 the process for doing a slip-stream installation of AX has changed slightly.  In the past we released one CU package file that could be used for both slip-streaming and updating.  With R3 Cu 8 we now have two different package files, one for doing an upgrade (R3 RTM to the next CU) and an R3 RTM Slip-Stream package file.  This often leads to confusion about whether or not you download the right package file and slip-streamed it properly.  To help clear up some of this and hopefully make your upgrades to AX 2012 R3 a lot smoother I thought I'd take a quick minute and cover this topic.  The steps below are written for R3 Cu 8, however you can use this example same process to slip-stream any individual hotfix into R3 with your new deployments as well.   Because Ax 2012 R3 makes great use of  LCS (Life Cycle Services), you will need an account on here to download CU 8 as it only available via  LCS. This is a quick walk through of processing a return order as a basic flow. The process will vary in many different ways based on how you want to handle the inventory and customer balance. Power BI and Dynamics AX

Power BI is one of the analytical tools that I enjoy playing with it. The most powerful part of using Power BI on top of the Dynamics AX data is how quickly you can produce and publish high impact visualizations that can then be accessed through Excel, the web, on a tablet or through the Power BI Windows 8 app Below is a series of posts about Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and Microsoft Power BI Power BI and Dynamics AX: Part 1: Introduction Power BI and Dynamics AX: Part 2: Extract and Transform Power BI and Dynamics AX: Part 3: Create and Publish Visualizations Power BI and Dynamics AX: Part 4: Data Refresh and Q&A Power BI and Dynamics AX: Part 5: PowerBI.com and On Premise Data (Preview)

Creating One Master Menu to Get Just What You Need

Sometimes the menus within Dynamics AX can be a little overwhelming because there are so many different menu items, and really you just use a handful of the menu items on a daily basis. Also, sometimes to perform a business flow you need to go to a couple of different area pages in order to find all of the things that you need. View Original Post

AX 2012 R3 Transportation Management Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 includes new Warehouse and Transportation management modules that are enabled by a single configuration key, along with the previously released Warehouse management II module. Users should enable the configuration key for ONLY ONE of these modules, but not both, in a single-instance, single-partition deployment. Although technically feasible, enabling the configuration keys for both of these modules in a single-instance, single-partition deployment is not supported by Microsoft. This is a demonstration video about the transportation management by Adaptable Solutions
